Tsun Vessel with Water
Chestnut Decor in Ruby
Red Glaze
Ch'ing Dynasty
(A.D. 1644-1911)
Height 38.0cm
This tsun has a
straight mouth, a tall
cylindrical neck, and a
flattened belly shaped
like a water chestnut.
The lip is fitted with
a bronze rim. On the neck
and belly, the glaze color
deepens from top to bottom,
showing brightly where it
is deepest. The glaze
surface is covered with a
fine crackle. The base is
unglazed.
